The hearings of the “barred” detainees began without them being present in the courtroom.

After the first hearing, in the middle of the second, a detainee was brought in who was not barred from seeing his attorney.

The hearing was disrupted and Atty. Ma’amoun Hashim went to talk to the detainee. There was a plea agreement between the police investigator and the defense, and the attorney explained it to the detainee.

Justice Sharon asked the detainee how he was feeling and what kind of treatment he was getting. The detainee said, “The allegations against me are false.”

The sides agreed on 4 additional days of remand extension and on transferring the case to the prosecution.

 

The hearings of the “barred” detainees resumed.

The investigator requested 15 more days – to complete the investigation, he said.

 

The arrest was a result of security information. The evidence is confidential and the defense is prevented from seeing it. The detainee has been interrogated and is cooperating.
