Afternoon

Etzion DCL: the routine is stifling. Precisely when there are no people at all, not in the DCL and not at the checkpoint, I wonder: where is everybody? Where did the Palestinians disappear? The eve of Holocaust day really did not make any difference to our watch. At the DCL one person waits for the secret service to be interrogated – because he is prevented from visiting his brothers in Jordan, another is waiting for his daughter for a long time already, as she is inside for interrogation. Another one comes out with a magnetic card and tells that it took him 10 minutes from the time he arrived till he came out with the magnetic card.Maher, the policeman, is present. We asked him until when he stays at work on Wednesday – and he answered that his schedule can vary. We had to do something else so we traveled to the checkpoint which is located east of Har Homa, Har Samuel.

Har Samuel: a deserted post like the one on the road to Beth Shemesh – it looks like there is some structure that may serve for transferring merchandise – but there were no lines and only one automobile was checked on its way in an easterly direction (Tekoa and another settlement further on).A routine of standstill, a routine of  introversion.
