Afternoon

Duration: 15:00 till 17:00 PM

General situation: still Ramadan, last day of Israeli school holiday.

On our way at 15:30 PM we saw on the other side (direction to Jerusalem) big numbers of cars waiting. We observed the same situation on the road from El Khadr to road No. 60.

15:40 PM, Etzion DCL: there were three Palestinian cars and one Palestinian taxi parked on the parking lot.

Four men were sitting on a wall. They were telling us, that three of them are just accompanying the fourth, who was ordered to appear at the DCL. He was called for investigation as apparently he picked up a big truck, (the truck was confiscated) and had spilled garbage at different places in Beitar. It seemed to be that this kind of littering was not the Palestinian's initiative, but the order of his Jewish employer.

After a while the police returned the truck. They told him that he will be sentenced in a court.

A man (well dressed) came to renew his magnetic card. The man had to wait for a long time until he dared (with our help) to ask why he is not called in.

The only soldier, who was guarding the turnstile, told him that all of the soldiers being in charge for making out magnetic cards are not in the office. The man should return on another day. There was no notice about the missing service.

16:30 PM, Bethlehem - Checkpoint 300: one police officer and two civil guards were around in the waiting hall. Two counters were open, but there were almost no Palestinians or tourists. The guards told me that previously there were many people passing.
