Morning

07:00 am, Bethlehem - Checkpoint 300: three booths were open and each had a long waiting line. Everyone there was complaining about the time it was taking today. The passage was occasionally blocked. The noise of the multitudes waiting outside in the crowded lines reached us. They claimed to be waiting since 5:00.

One of the soldiers serving in the booths appeared to be ill and he withdrew after a while, causing considerable commotion as two lines merged. Our request to have the sick soldier replaced was denied (no suitable soldier available). The soldier returned after quarter of an hour.

08:00 am, Etzion DCL: opens at around 8:00 o'clock. Some 30 Palestinians were waiting and the policeman was already there.

08:20 am, Halhul: The northern entrance was reconstructed with an asphalted square. But at the approach to Road 60 there is no left turn (northward) though  there is a signpost and a traffic-isle. In order to reach El-Hadr en route to Bethlehem one needs to travel about 2 kms southward to Nabi Yunis. The police claims that it is dangerous to turn here to Road 60, though there is an access, both southward and northward - from the settlers' Karmei Zur, a mere 100-200 m away.

08:40 am, Beit 'Inun: the blockage between the two parts of the village has been improved: now there are large cement blocks preventing even the passage of hand carts.

09:00 am, Nabi Yunis: We attended to some applications.
