Morning

6:45 am, Bethlehem - Checkpoint 300: almost all have passed through.  Four soldiers at checking booths.  By seven o'clock the line is finished.  One man complains that he has been given a parking ticket for leaving his car out in front and wants us to "take care of it."  A. the humanitarian soldier comes over to chat.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                          7:55 am, Etzion DCL: about forty people waiting.  The DCL opens at 8:15 am. One woman, with a Canadian passport is seeking a permit for her Palestinian husband to visit Jerusalem. Another complains he is on the shabak list for 18 long years. Otherwise everyone is seeking to renew his ID.
