Afternoon

14:10 only 4 cars were parked at the parking lot. The waiting hall was empty. A young man came out and said that for a long time now he is treated three times a week at Hadassah Hospital. Last week, he was asked to bring his wife so that they could teach her how to help him with physiotherapy. He asked for a permit for his wife but didn’t get one. He was told to come back tomorrow. He explained that tomorrow morning he has an appointment at Hadassah and asked for a permit today, but they again refused. We called Hannah and with her help he got the permit.

An older man said he wanted permits to enter Israel for himself and his two sisters, to accompany to Hadassah one of them who has cancer. Yesterday he waited a few hours and didn’t get permits. Today he arrived at 8 am and only at four in the afternoon he received the permits. They lost the appointment they had today at Hadassah.

A young man complained that for several hours now he’s been waiting for a permit to stay by his mother, who had a brain hemorrhage and is hospitalized at Hadassah. We called the Humanitarian Center but weren’t able to help him.

One family came out and said that they have land close to Gush Etzion. The settlers coveted the land but the family proved in court they own the land and the court ruled in their favor. The disappointed settlers came and cut down all the olive trees on the family’s land, while the army protected them.

At 17:00 a man who got a permit came out, he said he waited in the morning a few hours, there was no soldier on duty at the window and he had no one to turn to. He left and came back in the afternoon, waited an hour and got his wish.

We heard from other people as well about long hours of waiting, complete indifference to those waiting, there was no soldier on duty and no written notice about if and when they will be addressed.
