Morning

Etzion DCL

10:45 like last week, today as well a young man approached us: he received a traffic violation fine of 250 Shekels. He had to pay the fine at an Israeli post office he couldn’t reach. We drove him to the post office in Alon Shvut. There it turned out that the fine has been increased because of the late payment and now amounts to 375 Shekels. He of course paid.

Another person said that his driving license was revoked this week but his trial was set in August. Until then he won’t be able to use his car for his work. He was required to pay 1000 Shekels as a guarantee that he will appear at the trial.

An older man complained that at night they came to his house to summon his son to a meeting in the morning with "Captain Daoud" (GSS). The son is handicapped confined to a wheelchair, unable to either walk or talk. The father showed us a letter from a physician attesting that his son’s disability is 100%. We passed the details to Hannah and she will try to help.

A large group of people who were summoned to a meeting with a policeman were waiting in the hall and were not let in since "he has not yet arrived." They were not told when he will arrive. At 12:00 they announced on the loudspeaker that he will not arrive. The people had to leave and will have to come back next week.
