Afternoon

Anata

When we arrived at Anata, there was a long back up of vehicles heading toward Ras il Hamis, few vehicles coming toward Jerusalem .  There did not seem to be any specific reason for the back up.  Perhaps it was something on the other side of the checkpoint, but since we did not go through, there was no way of knowing.

Al Ezariya:

Very quiet.  Little traffic.

En route to Wadi Nar:

There were several patrol cars parked at the area where the Bedouin encampment is being uprooted.  There were a few people lingering around, but not a demonstration or protest as in past weeks.  The work continues there are bulldozers were present.

Wadi Nar

It appears that the changes in the checkpoint have been completed.  Traffic moved smoothly in both directions.

On our return to Jerusalem , a Palestinian ambulance with red lights flashing passed by us.  When we got to the checkpoint, it was temporarily halted and I expected that they were waiting for a “back to back”, but the ambulance was allowed to continue on its path.  Perhaps there has been a change in procedures.

Very quiet shift.
