Etzion DCL

10:15 the traffic through the Tunnels’ Highway flowed undisturbed. Close to Alon Shvut, near the square, a surprise checkpoint was erected. No cars were stopped.

10:45 we have not visited Etzion’s DCL for quite a while and were surprised to find a few changes. There were only a few cars in the DCL’s parking lot. The waiting hall was empty. Only a few people arrived and they were immediately let in. A man who was waiting outside told us that he was a landowner near Alon Shvut and Kfar Etzion. He has documents testifying to his ownership. His lands were confiscated. A paved road and houses were built on his land in Kfar Etzion. He does not know how many houses have been built because they won’t give him an entry permit. We referred him to “Yesh Din”.

Three people approached us and said their entry permits were taken and they were told they were GSS (barred). No one bothered to explain why they were prevented and why their permits were taken. We gave them the phone number of Silvia. A young woman, who came to ask for an entry permit to visit her aunt in a hospital in Jerusalem, was admitted at once and came out shortly afterward. She did not get a permit. She was told that her aunt has been released from the hospital. She checked to make sure her aunt was indeed out of the hospital. Some people, who were admitted after her, came out with permits.

The proceedings were quiet and organized and the atmosphere was relaxed.
