Afternoon

Anata crossing was quiet.  The garbage, broken glass, plastic bags and containers were strewn all over the area.  Work on the land fill area – in close proximity to a school continues, covering the area in dust and battering it with noise.   The sparse traffic was without impediment

Isawiya:  The blocked crossing to Mount Scopus remains patrolled by the military, allowing pedestrians but not vehicles.  The other two exits are open.

Azariah:  There seems to be less traffic in the area of late.  The period of restoration and brightening up the store fronts and the general appearance of the place is well over and done with.

The road to Wadi Nar:  There appears to be some activity in the area from which the Bedouin were removed.  New restraining walls seem to have appeared in the past weeks.

Wadi Nar:  The once bustling area is now like a ghost town.  Only the di Narlittle shop at the corner and one other store remain open.  The others are closed.  Much less traffic going through the checkpoint.  At the time we were there (approximately 3:00 p.m.) the area was pretty much deserted.
