Morning

05:55 - Barta’a Checkpoint

The upper parking lot was filled with workers and vehicles.  Workers carrying cups of coffee go up through the “sleeveinfo-icon” (the enclosed passageway leading out of the terminal).  Despite the recent events and the call for a strike today, the world goes on as usual. The people who come to the checkpoint enter immediately. In the terminal, 5 windows are open to serve the workers and the turnstile creaks without stopping. The coffee stall and the seats opposite are already covered with screens, because of the Ramadan Fast, which starts tomorrow.

06:30 - Anin Checkpoint

The soldiers are already here and they open the gatesinfo-icon slowly.  Today only 23 people and one tractor pass through, and among them a few elderly and one woman with a small child. The woman passes through with an agricultural permit and says that every time they ask why the child is dressed so well.  We left at 06:50 after everyone had passed through. The checkpoint remained open.

06:55 – Tura Checkpoint – The checkpoint is already open and we meet people who already went through.  A young man from Daher el Malec waits for his two brothers.  Both of the brothers moved to live in the nearby village of Tura after they did not receive a permit to build a home in their village.

6 cars pass to the Seamline Zone and 4 to the West Bank. The passage is fast.

Schoolchildren pass through to the West Bank quickly with no inspection.

07:15 – There are still people passing through to the Seamline Zone, but, in general, there are far fewer people passing through the checkpoint than in the past.
