Morning

Qalandiya

Since it was Friday we saw dozens of older women and men on the way to prayers.  The fact there’s a new checkpoint hasn’t turned it into a European border crossing.  The same congestion as before, the same chaos….the same filth at the location called – in English – an international border crossing.

At the new gas station we found art work that touched our heart.

Shu’afat refugee camp

A bustling fruit market next to the checkpoint, where we found strawberries from Gaza.

The municipality may be showing up here more frequently, because it seems as though someone has been cleaning the street.  On the other side, in the alleys of the refugee camp, nothing has changed.  A part of Jerusalem, ours for eternity!  Nor did the soldiers at the checkpoint believe we’re in Jerusalem.  They told us we’re in Area A.
