Morning
קילקיס - מחסום בכניסה

The main item of the shift: the checkpoints are back.

Meitar checkpoint: Five buses of families visiting prisoners undergo a strict inspection.

Today there is a lot of activity in the stalls of Palestinian merchants in the area.

Route 60:

At Samu’ junction we met with Farhan who initiated and organizes the school in Simia. We were told what their life is like there.

The students returned to school and this year more children were added, so they hope to collect donations and build two more classrooms.

Reminder: the school in Simia is an initiative of Farhan, which began several years ago, as part of the schools of the Palestinian Authority’s challenges. The goal was to allow the young Simian children to get to school safely. Before, they would cross the dangerous Route 60 (no crosswalks, traffic lights, or safety guards) and then continue a long distance to the school. At first the school building was destroyed several times by the occupying forces, until an existing building was found inside the village that was converted to use as a school.

The roadblocks at the exits from the Palestinian settlements to Route 60 have returned.

At the southern entrance of Hebron, near Beit Hagai, every vehicle leaving Hebron is checked (entrance to Hebron is free).

Also, at the Qilqis-Hebron intersection there are barriers on both sides, at the exit to Route 60.

The Sheep Crossing : here, too, the checkpoints are back.

The policy changed after the attack near Beit Hagai. Every vehicle that leaves a Palestinian village on Route 60 is inspected. That's why there are traffic jams at the exits, and it takes a long time to move from one place to another.

Further along the road, there were no checkpoints until the Shuyukh-Hebron junction.
